Carousel Center Food Court

A local radio station is holding a fundraiser for the Children's Miracle Network here in the Carousel Center Food Court. The 'talent' are up onstage doing their show (I can't hear them) while three 'barkers' are standing in front of the stage handing out flyers. I notice something while watching: some people walk right past without stopping, some catch the eye of one of the people handing out flyers and take one and keep going. Others stop and drop their money into the upturned water cooler jug. Groups of people seem more likely to give if one of their group gives first. Peer pressure is a powerful and subversive and often unnoticed force in our lives.
